Dr Paula Cuoco (MD DCH FRACP) is a general paediatrician who completed her medical degree from The University of Buenos Aires (U.B.A) in Argentina in 2008.
Soon after, she moved to Melbourne where she completed the Australian Medical Council requirements and gained full qualification as a medical practitioner in Australia. Since 2009 she has been practising medicine within the paediatric field. Prior to commencing her training to become a paediatrician, she completed a Diploma in Child Health through The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Sydney.
During her training, Paula has worked in various departments within various health organizations in Victoria but spent most of her time at The Royal Children’s Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital.
Paula has an interest in a wide range of paediatric issues affecting children from birth until 13 years of age. She specially enjoys working together with parents to help children reach their full potential, always taking into consideration the whole family’s wellbeing. Paula has experience managing a wide range of childhood problems such as Eczema, Asthma, Constipation, Toileting Problems, Chronic Fatigue, Sleep Difficulties, Developmental Delay, Learning Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Behavioural Challenges to mention a few.
“After many years working with children, and especially after becoming a mother, I have realised that being a Paediatrician is much more than just looking after children’s physical health. It is also about supporting their intellectual and emotional wellbeing. Furthermore, it is also about supporting their parents, the pillars of the family, and walking together this difficult journey that is parenthood.”
I am joining GLOW because of its holistic approach. I share the philosophy and believe that it offers most the resources to help children, and their families, blossom. I am excited to join a team of professionals who share my values and work together towards the same gold that is the whole family well-being.”
In her free time, Paula enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She loves involving them in cooking, crafting and outdoor activities, especially bike rides along the beachside.
