Barbara is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (Psychological Therapist) with over 20 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief and loss, and major life transitions.
She has a particular interest in trauma recovery, including complex trauma, childhood trauma, and birth-related trauma. Barbara is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and uses this evidence-based approach to help clients process and heal from distressing life experiences.
Barbara also supports clients navigating the emotional challenges of the perinatal period, including postnatal anxiety and depression, as well as the transition to parenthood. She provides a warm, non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported.
Her approach is collaborative and client-centred, drawing on evidence-based therapies including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Her goal is to help clients better understand their experiences, build resilience, and create meaningful change.
Barbara enjoys working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and has a strong interest in migration and cross-cultural experiences. She speaks fluent Polish and can offer therapy in both English and Polish.
